The revelation of harmful guest (blogging)!
The myth about guest blogging is finally revealed on the
open street! Matt Cutts, loud and clear as he spoke, has recently (this year)
come up with the ins and outs of guest blogging on his personal blog. Well,
before I dig down into the main story let’s get an idea of the background of
guest blogging or posting.

Spam Guest Posting |
Over the past decade
the practice of guest blogging has seen its rise and enjoyed the legacy with
pride. It’s been treated as a great way to have your blogs or articles posted
in different reputed guest posting sites and get backlinks for your own site
which, as a consequence, was going to help you rank higher in search results.
So, people with a passion for it have worked intensively on this as the result
was quick and convincing. Anyway, if you are still thinking, so what’s the
matter with guest blogging now? The answer is, in a lifetime everything has a
rise and fall, so has guest blogging. ‘Excess of anything is bad’, there is a
popular proverb goes like this and guess what, same thing happened with guest
posting. It has seen its limit and it has also crossed that limit, so the long
earned legacy of guest blogging is just destroyed over night.
There is still some hope left in the ashes. Those who are
thinking good days are gone would be glad to know that there are still scopes
for guest blogging. The head of Google’s Webspam team Matt Cutts although has
said scornful words on this issue is not completely against it. After reading
his blog articles and watching his video interviews on this topic it can be realized
that he is not after guest blogging rather he is after mal practices and the
spammers.
There are thousands of sites on web which are offering guest
posting but has no quality maintenance. These kinds of sites have earned a bad
reputation for guest posting. There are several reasons why one will go for
guest blogging-
- · To have one’s own writing posted in different sites
- · To have backlinks for one’s own site
- · To generate traffic for one’s site
- · To rank higher in search results
But one must keep in mind that the practice should be fair.
There are several sites that offer money to provide backlinks most of the time
these are not ethical and also these are low quality sites. There are also some spammers who will offer
you money to get their backlinks from your site often times the link leads you
to a page you are not interested in or are filled with adult contents. To stop
this ill practice and to enhance the quality of the contents and the sites over
web Google has taken the initiative. It will surely help those people who are
really concerned more about the quality of the content not the quantity.
There is nothing to worry for the guest bloggers! The space
to work is still there, you just need to be more careful from now on. Only the
spam guest positing is discouraged not the overall guest posting niche. If
little thing can help you achieve more what’s the use of plenty things that
will cause you harm? Of course, a little but proper guest blogging can do a lot
more than spamming a thousand times.
The things that needed to be considered are quality of the
content, relevancy, target audience, quality of the site etc. If properly
followed, guest blogging can be a good way to get optimized and generate
traffic. Google is never after anyone as long as you are involved in the best
practices of SEO but if you manipulate it is not going to stop running after
you. The main thing is Google is trying to enhance the web experience and it is
taking every initiative to get that thing done. To me, this must be done to
server greater interest of the internet users and for long term benefit for
SEO.
Good works never die and the same way good guest posting
practices will always remain alive. It will earn benefits for your site the way
it did in the past, only the spammers are in trouble. So, those who do not spam
have nothing to be worried about, just sit back on your chair, take a deep
breath and start guest blogging!
